Rally on Parliament Hill – Saturday 06 December 2008
Members and supporters of the Carleton-Mississippi Mills Conservative Association attended the Rally for Canada on Parliament Hill on Saturday 06 Dec 2008 to show our support for the Conservative Government (and our non-support for the Liberal/NDP/Bloc Québécois Coalition that is planning to supplant the government.) The Ottawa Citizen reported that about 3,500 people were in attendance.
The Ottawa Citizen wrote: “Thousands rally across the country to protest coalition’s power play. Angry crowd of 3,500 in Ottawa manages to keep things civil”. We were not “angry” in the sense of yelling wildly, but rather in the manner of deep concern about the Coalition’s plans to replace the newly elected Conservative government without: describing their plans and policies in detail; giving us a chance to ask them questions; and then going through an election process to decide who should lead us through the upcoming economic challenges.
