We had a friendly get-together at the Almonte Legion, 100 Bridge Street in Almonte, over breakfast.  Local Member of Parliament Scott Reid delivered a fascinating discussion on the challenges of Senate reform and the tactics being used by the Liberals to maintain the partisan appointment system.  Minister of National Revenue Gordon O’Connor provided encouraging insight into the political situation at various areas in the country.  Councillor Marilyn Anderson (Mississippi Mills) outlined numerous upcoming events in the area.

Our Delegate Selection Meeting for the policy convention was held Thursday May 29^th at the Holiday Inn Select in Kanata (Centrum Plaza).  Ten delegates were selected, and will have an opportunity to particpate in the Policy Convention in Winnipeg 13-15 November 2008.  Thanks to all who participated…:-)
