The second annual fall supper that was held on Thursday October 26th, 2006 was a resounding success. The list of dignitaries in attendance was long and the members who showed up got to enjoy a great speech from our MP (The Hon. Gordon O’Connor) and the Minister of Finance (The Hon. James Flaherty).

Also in attendance was the Minister of Heritage and Status for Women (Hon. Bev Oda), the MPP for the local riding (Norm Sterling), the Parliamentary Secretary for HRSDC (Lynne Yelich) and Mrs. Laureen Harper.

The speech given by the Hon. James Flaherty did not disappoint. The fiscal responsibility and light hearted speaking skills kept the crowd quite entertained. The Minister received a standing ovation which was well deserved.

We appreciate all the support we received from the attendees and we look forward to seeing you at next year’s event.

We have locked in our guest speaker for the Fall Supper on October 26th. It will be our Minister of Finance, Jim Flaherty. Mr. Flaherty has a great wit and handles a very important portfolio within our government so his speech should be interesting to say the least.
