Annual General Meeting – April 29th, 2010 – all members welcome!

At our Annual General Meeting (AGM) we elect members to the Board of Directors to serve as volunteers for the Riding Association over the following year. All current members are welcome to attend and vote. Various positions are available and a nominating committee oversees the application of interested candidates. Email us at conservative@cmmca.ca if you’d like to stand for election to the Board by following the guidelines set out below. Otherwise, all members are encouraged to join us at the Stittsville Legion at 7 pm on April 29th!

If you’re interested in joining our Board of Directors and want to become more involved, here’s what you need
to know and do:

• Our main objective is to position our candidate – currently the Honourable Gordon O’Connor, for election

• Board meetings cover the logistics of getting ready for the next election, increasing donations, and increasing memberships

• We do not discuss Party policy issues at the Board meetings (but any Party member can join the Policy
working group to discuss policy without being on the Board of Directors)

• Board members are a central core of volunteers who undertake such duties as attending board meetings,
staffing booths at Fairs (4 hour shifts), membership drives, fundraising, mail-outs, being active on one of our
committees, helping to organize and/or working at one or more of our events, membership data corrections in
our records, and other similar activities. The Election of Board members takes place at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Any member who has been a member for at least 21 days can stand for election to the Board.

If you are interested, please submit a short biographical summary (approximately 150 words, or less) for
publication at the AGM. Submissions may be sent to conservative@cmmca.ca, or mailed to our postal
address, but must reach us at least three days before the AGM in order to be included in the printed handout
at the meeting. Alternately, be prepared to give a verbal equivalent at the AGM.

Position descriptions of committee chairs and the Executive are posted on our website.

Hope to see you at our Annual General Meeting!
